Johan Lange

(1818 - 1898)

Danish Botanist. Librarian at the Botanical library 1851-58. Director of the Botanical Garden 1856-76. Reader of botany at the Danish Technical University 1857-62, and at the Royal Danish Agricultural University 1858-93, from 1892 as professor. The last editor of "Flora Danica" (from 1858). Travels in Europe. Numerous studies on the flora of Denmark, Greenland and various European countries, especially Spain (Willkomm & Lange, Prodromus Florae Hispanicae, 1861-80).
