Joakim Frederik Schouw

(1789 - 1852)

Botanist and geographer. Travelled widely in Europe 1816-20 and 1829-30. professor of botany at the University of Copenhagen from 1821. Pioneer in plant geography and the relation between plants and climate. Collections from Europe in the Botanical Museum.
