Research interests: Taxonomy and nomenclature of marine algae; biology and distribution of marine algae from Denmark (checklist of Danish Seaweeds), the Baltic Sea, and the Faroe Islands; Ulvellaceae from all parts of the world based on culture-studies.

Special responsibilities: Member of the board of the Botanical Museum and Library. Member of the board of the BIOFAR-programme, a research programme with the purpose to identify and register all marine, benthic, macro-orga-nisms around the Faroe Islands.
